DEFINE YOUR NEW SELF!

For Neville Goddard, self-concept is your fundamental belief about who you are, encompassing your identity, capabilities, and worth, and it's the sole determinant of your reality; by changing your inner feeling and assumption of your desired self (e.g., feeling wealthy, loved, successful) through imagination and repetition, you reprogram your subconscious, thereby shifting your external world to match that new inner conviction, making your self-concept the key to manifestation.

Key Principles of Neville's Self-Concept:

  • Consciousness is Reality: Your outer world reflects your inner state; there's no one to change but yourself (your consciousness/self-concept).

  • Imagination Creates Reality: Your ability to vividly imagine and feel your desired state as already true is the creative force.

  • Change Your Inner Story: You must control your inner dialogue and assumptions, replacing old beliefs (e.g., "I'm not good enough") with new, empowering ones ("I am worthy and capable").

  • The Trinity of Self-Concept: It involves your ego (identity), emotions (feelings), and memory (past beliefs), all working together to form your perceived reality.

  • Embody the State: The goal is to become the person who already has what you want, living from that feeling, not just wishing for it.

How to Apply It (Neville's Method):

  1. Define Your New Self: Decide exactly who you want to be (e.g., "I am a confident, successful artist").

  2. Assume the Feeling: Enter a relaxed, drowsy state (like just before sleep) and vividly imagine scenes that imply your wish is fulfilled, feeling the joy and reality of it.

  3. Live From the End: Carry that feeling and new self-concept into your day, correcting opposing thoughts with your new inner conviction.

  4. Persistence: Consistently reinforce this new self-concept until it becomes your natural state, automatically changing your experiences.

So this week, DEFINE YOUR NEW SELF! Use EMPOWERING statements such as "I am someone who...". All statements, all thoughts, all feelings from now on must come from a place of ALREADY HAVING that which you DESIRE.
